Babolat AeroPro Drive Cortex Tennis Racquet

The Babolat AeroPro Drive Cortex, the racquet of choice for Rafael Nadal, is an updated version from the classic AeroPro Drive. In Babolat's constant technological pursuit to provide players with an even greater amount of comfort and feel, they have combined the excellent playing characteristics of the Drive series of racquets with their new technology called the Cortex System. This technology filters out harmful vibrations that may contribute to tennis elbow without sacrificing the excellent feel and control that has made Babolat a world power in tennis equipment. The Woofer technology adds pistons to the frame that act as suspension to decrease the amount of shock that could potentially hurt the player. Like the earlier version, this racquet features the same AeroModular technology that allows for a more aerodynamic frame to increase headspeed and further increasing the power and control permitted to the user.

Cortex System: An active vibration filter customized to player level needs and acts as an interface between the handle and frame. The two parts of the racquet are actively linked by the C.D.S (Cortex Damping System) which filters and dampens vibrations interfering with feel, to enhance the feel of the ball. It is the first technology customized to filter the different types of vibrations. High frequency vibrations which interfere with feel are filtered out and only the vibrations providing feel (low frequency vibrations) are maintained.
Woofer Technology: A patented innovation by Babolat, Woofer is the first technology which makes the frame and the strings interact when striking the ball. This technology adds 25% more contact time between the ball and strings, which in turn generates more power, more control and spin, a more comfortable feel and a larger sweetspot area.
