Meet a legacy that helped the champions you know and love get to where they are. The Wilson Pro Staff Tennis Racquet is from the family that has been cherished by the games greatest icons, including Federer, Sampras, Edberg and Courier. The Pro Staff RF 97 Tennis Racquet makes sure to keep this tradition alive by having Roger Federers signature on the racquet itself.
The new version features a unique braided box-beam construction to make the Wilson Pro Staff Tennis Racquet stiffer and capture the essence of classic control. There is also a new braided Graphite + Kevlar construction for exceptional feel and performance.
Amplifeel handle system stays in the spotlight from the previous generation to give you maximum handle sensation and for the best feel yet in a Wilson Pro Staff. Offering a midplus head size gives a superb feel, great response from its frame, a more forgiving attitude than the midsize offering, and excellent access to spin thanks to its open string pattern.
The main draw to this racquet is its nature of being all about precision but dont think you wont get some pop from this stick. The racquet is quite heavy and advanced players that can handle the heft will really see where this racquet shines but many players can appreciate what it was built to do. Strokes go in the exact angle you want them to go, serves are places in the very area of the service box you envisioned it to go, and volleys are quickly finished with finesse.
Best suited for: The Wilson Pro Staff RF 97 Tennis Racquet is perfect for the advanced players looking to add both pace and precision to their game.

Average of 2 customer reviews:
This Racquet is rock solid. If your technique is solid and you have the time to prepare early this stick will reward you with a solid , predictable , vibration free hit. I string mine with Wilson's Champion's choice. Plays like butter ... The negative's : nothing is perfect. When i ordered two grip 3's the racquets did not feel the same at all. One grip was bigger than the other. More a problem with Wilson than Plaza but I had to put one racquet up for sale.
Modern day feel that offers above average stability on all shots. Uncanny ability to absorb your opponents pace and send it back with authority. Excels at slice and volleying. Groundstrokes are heavy and spinny off of both wings. You need to play aggressively and stroke the ball otherwise it will fly. Serving placement was good on slice and topspin. Had a timing issue with flat serves due to the hefty feeling of the racquet but nothing you couldn't get use to. Overall this is a winner. Currently play with PS90 and will be making the switch. Babo Gut 15/ALU Rough...57/54. I would go 54/51 next time.
